You need it to repair your equipment, to buy things from the Auction House, to buy potions, etc. There are many ways to get
gold in Diablo 3, but below are the top 10
Diablo 3 gold farming tips I have found to work in my time playing the game.
1) Sell rings from vendors
This is one of the key ways to making money in Diablo 3. Check the vendors in the various acts for rings with good stats, and sell them at 2 times or even 3 times the original price on the Auction House. This works because people are either too lazy to check the vendors themselves, or assume they sell crappy items.
2) Find good deals
While playing the normal game is fun, making money will take you outside the game and into the Auction House. Look for good deals such as under-priced items and stock up on them, then sell them at a higher price. This works especially right now when the game is still new and people do not know the real price on most items.
3) Combine gems
Depending the market price, you might be able to purchase the ingredients necessary to make a higher tier gem, combine them, and then sell that at a higher price. For example you might buy three "Perfect" gems and combine them into a "Radiant" gem. Remember to take into account the cost of the Jeweler before calculating your profits.
4) Sell Blacksmith items
This one involves a little luck and investment. Basically the idea is to upgrade the Blacksmith to a high level, and then craft rare items until you get one with good stats. These can net you quite a bit of profit especially if they roll perfect stats.
5) Corpses and destructables
While this may seem obvious, you would be surprised how many people I see ignoring these in multiplayer games. Breaking barrels and clicking on corpses can yield up to 500 gold each time on Nightmare and sometimes even drop blue/yellow items. You can use the blue items you gained for "free" from this method to do step 4.
6) Magic and gold find
When going on item and gold hunts, you should always get gear with these attributes on them. Gold find increases the gold you obtain from chests, while magic find increases the chance that you get higher quality gear such as "rare" or "set". If you are playing solo, note that magic and gold find equipped on followers is reduced to 20% and given to you, as written in our Diablo 3 Followers article.
7) Don't pick up junk
"But it sells for gold!" you might say. While bad items such as grey or white items sell for gold, they sell for very little and increase the trips you have to make to town to empty your bags. The more trips you make, the less time you will spend farming gold.
8) Magic and gold find shrines
Make good use of these. As soon as you spot one, don't click it. Depending on it's location, you might be able to pull a bunch of monsters first, and then click it to make sure you get the full effect. If this isn't possible (like if the shrine is in a remote place or you already killed all the monsters in the vicinity) then simply click it and run/kill as fast as you can.
9) Sell good drops on the AH
If you are lucky and get a good stat roll on a drop, take the time to examine the the current market prices and sell it at a slight undercut. This will increase the chances that your item will sell. You do not want to waste your 10 Auctions limit by placing over-priced or crappy stuff on the AH, leave the spots open for good stuff.
10) Experiment with builds
The more robust your build is, the less you will die. This in turn means you will spend more time actually killing monsters and less time repairing your equipment.
